About Buckman Associates

Buckman Associates Ltd is an economic development consultancy founded by Emma Buckman in 2010 to provide high quality economic development services to the public, private and voluntary sector.   Operating from Devon, we provide support to a wide range of clients in the South West of England as well as further afield.

Whilst no two projects are ever the same, our core services include:

• Strategy Development
• Project Development, Business Planning and Bid Writing
• Evaluation and Impact Assessment
• Research and Analysis

However, we do not deliver ‘off the shelf’ solutions and every project we deliver is bespoke, designed with you to meet your needs.

Buckman Associates Ltd works closely with other consultancies, in particular Southern Horizons (UK) Ltd, bringing in additional expertise and capacity where required.  As part of a wider network of economic development professionals, we can draw on a broad range of skills as required.

About Emma

Emma has worked in the consultancy environment for over 20 years and is passionate about delivering high quality, robust research and reports which are useful!

Prior to setting up Buckman Associates Ltd in 2010, Emma was a Senior Consultant with ekosgen (www.eksogen.co.uk), where she project managed a wide variety of economic development projects.  Prior to this, she was a consultant within BRE’s Impact Assessment Unit (www.bre.co.uk), where she assessed the effectiveness of Government Energy and Construction Programmes.

With a degree in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia, Emma is particularly interested in the issues of sustainability, climate change and clean growth.  She has a detailed knowledge of European Funding programmes (including ERDF, ESF and RDPE), having worked in the field for 18 years.  Her experience includes:

• Development of operational programmes/ESIF strategies
• Development of funding bids and project applications
• Evaluation of projects and programmes

Emma is a strategic, creative thinker with an eye for detail.  She brings a collaborative approach to her work, often working closely with client teams as a trusted advisor.  Her values of honesty and integrity are appreciated by colleagues and clients alike.
